Jio and Airtel, two of India’s largest telecom providers, are working hard to roll out 5G services as soon as feasible. Jio has not yet made any public announcements on the rollout of its 5G services, but Gopal Vittal, CEO of Airtel, has provided some information. According to him, Airtel will start offering 5G services as soon as this month. Airtel intends to serve all towns, cities, and rural areas by 2024, he continued. However, according to certain rumours, Jio will roll out its 5G services on August 15.

It’s possible that Airtel may launch 5G services in the nation before any other telecom provider, based on the timeframe that the company is providing. Also nearby is Reliance Jio. Recall that Jio was the pioneer in the 4G race, and it’s likely that the telecom company will follow in its footsteps. Who will prevail in the 5G competition between Jio and Airtel? Only time will tell.

As per internet reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce 5G during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on September 29. The auction’s participating telecom companies, including Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vi, and Adani Data Network, are all preparing to provide 5G services shortly. The CEO of Bharti Airtel has since stated that Airtel will launch 5G services in India this month without providing a specific launch date.

Gopal Vittal, the CEO of Airtel, has also stated that the company plans to launch with 5,000 towns as a setup to sustain the current system. By 2024, the telecom provider hopes to diversify its network and reach every city and important rural area.

Airtel has announced agreements with industry giants like Samsung, Nokia, and Ericsson as well as plans to begin rolling out its 5G network in India by the end of August.

According to reports, 13 cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune, would receive 5G services in the first phase. Other cities will follow to this.
