Mani Ratnam is getting ready for the September 30 release of Ponniyin Selvan, his most recent masterpiece. It will debut in IMAX as the first Tamil film ever. Mani Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran, working under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions labels, respectively, produced the historical play Ponniyin Selvan.
The pan-India film is based on the cult novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Ponniyin Selvan will be released in IMAX on Tuesday, August 16th, according to Lyca Productions.
