Online food delivery service Zomato has declared the end of its loyalty programme, known as Zomato Pro. To refresh your memory, the business already discontinued its more expensive reward programme, Zomato Pro Plus. The subscription offers an additional discount on online food orders and also waives the delivery fee, and it functions much like a Swiggy One membership.
Through a message, Zomato advised subscribers attempting to renew their lapsed Pro membership of the same. “We appreciate your participation in the Zomato Pro programme. The membership cannot be renewed while we develop a new and improved experience for you. To stay current on the newest offerings, we ask that you visit the Zomato app, the company stated in the message
Zomato hasn’t clearly mentioned why the Zomato Pro membership is being discontinued, but a report from the Indian Express suggests that the company is developing a “new programme.” The business hasn’t yet provided many details about the new membership, though.
In order to create a new programme, we are listening to customer feedback and collaborating closely with our restaurant partners. New merchant partners and members are not currently being added to Zomato Pro and Zomato Pro Plus. When a member’s membership term expires, they will not be allowed to extend or renew their memberships, a company spokeswoman informed the publication. Active members can still receive the benefits that were promised to them.
