Australia, the defending champions, unveiled their Indigenous-themed jersey on Wednesday in preparation for the coming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. As the Aaron Finch-led team attempts to retain their T20 World Cup championship on home soil, Australia will don an Indigenous-themed uniform for the first time.

The new Australian uniform will feature shirts with black sleeves and a gold and green gradient on the trunk topped by artwork. Aunty Fiona Clarke and Courtney Hagen created the kit. James Couzens, a cricketer who played for the Aboriginal XI in a historic match at the MCG in 1866 and afterward visited England, is linked to Clarke.
“In the middle, we’ve been able to incorporate the colors of both of First Nations flags in Australia. So you’ve got the red, black and yellow, which represents Aboriginal flag and the blue, white and green which represents the Torres Strait Islander flag,” Hagen said.
Here is the Australia squad:
Aaron Finch (c), Pat Cummins (vc), Ashton Agar, Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa
