Twitter said in a tweet that we are testing the edit button. They also mentioned this in their blog post, but this feature is not for all. To get access to this feature you need to subscribe i.e., it is not free you should pay for it, they confirmed this in their blog post.
Here is the tweet made by Twitter on their official Page
if you see an edited Tweet it's because we're testing the edit button
— Twitter (@Twitter) September 1, 2022
this is happening and you'll be okay
“It’s true: Edit Tweet is being tested by our team internally. The test will then be initially expanded to Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks. Given that this is our most requested feature to date, we wanted to both update you on our progress and give you a heads up that, even if you’re not in a test group, everyone will still be able to see if a Tweet has been edited.” they said in their blog post.
They also mentioned that one can edit a tweet within the first 30 minutes of the post being published. The company also mentioned that the edited tweets will appear with an icon, label, and time stamp to make it clear to readers that original post has been edited. When a reader clicks on the label they will be taken to the edited versions of the tweet.
However, this feature is for Twitter blue subscribers “a smaller group to help us incorporate feedback while identifying and resolving potential issues.” In India still, Twitter blue subscription is not available officially, we can hope with this feature Twitter blue subscription will also be launched soon in the country.
