Reliance Jio announced in a statement on Tuesday that a select group of customers would participate in a beta trial of its 5G service starting on October 5 in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi.

Customers will receive an invitation to check out the company’s 5G services through the Jio True 5G Welcome Offer, and subscribers will receive unlimited 5G internet at speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second.

“Post the successful demonstration of its True-5G services at the India Mobile Congress 2022, Jio is announcing the Beta trial of its True-5G services on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, for Jio users in 4 cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi,” Jio said in the statement.

Even while the technology hasn’t yet proven viable for other Asian telecom carriers, Reliance is depending on the nationwide deployment of 5G to help entice high-paying wireless consumers and enhance its e-commerce and media business.
